Well‐defined amphiphilic pentablock copolymers Siy‐(EGx‐FAz)2 composed of polysiloxane (Si), polyethylene glycol (EG), and perfluorohexylethyl polyacrylate (FA) blocks are synthesized by ATRP of FA monomer starting from a difunctional bromo‐terminated macroinitiator. Diblock copolymers EGx‐FAz are also synthesized as model systems. The block copolymers are used, either alone or blended with a PDMS matrix in varied loadings, to prepare antibiofouling coatings. Angle‐resolved XPS and contact angle measurements show that the coating surface is highly enriched in fluorine content but undergoes reconstruction after contact with water. Protein adsorption experiments with human serum albumin and calf serum highlight that diblock copolymers resist protein adhesion better than do pentablock copolymers. Blending of the pentablock copolymer with PDMS results in increased protein adsorption. By contrast, the PDMS‐matrix coatings show high removal percentages of sporelings of the green fouling alga Ulva linza. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined tertiary amine‐based pH‐responsive homopolymers and block copolymers were synthesized via reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization using 4‐cyanopentanoic acid dithiobenzoate (CPAD) as the RAFT agent for homopolymers and a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) macro‐RAFT agent for the block copolymers. 1H NMR and gel permeation chromatography results confirmed the successful synthesis of these homopolymers and block copolymers. Kinetics studies indicated that the formation of both the homopolymers and the block copolymers were well defined. The pKa titration experiments suggested that the homopolymers and the related block copolymers have a similar pKa. The dynamic light scattering investigation showed that all of the block copolymers underwent a sharp transition from unimers to micelles around their pKa and the hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) was not only dependent on the molecular weight but also on the composition of the block copolymers. The polymer solution of PEG‐b‐PPPDEMA formed the largest micelle compare to the PEG‐b‐PDPAEMA and PEG‐b‐PDBAEMA with a similar molecular weight. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Following a thermal reduction method, platinum nanoparticles were synthesized and stabilized by polyvinylpyrrolidone. The colloidal platinum nanoparticles were stable for more than 3 months. The micrograph analysis unveiled that the colloidal platinum nanoparticles were well dispersed with an average size of 2.53 nm. The sol–gel‐based inverse micelle strategy was applied to synthesize mesoporous iron oxide material. The colloidal platinum nanoparticles were deposited on mesoporous iron oxide through the capillary inclusion method. The small‐angle X‐ray scattering analysis indicated that the dimension of platinum nanoparticles deposited on mesoporous iron oxide (Pt‐Fe2O3) was 2.64 nm. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data showed that the binding energy on Pt‐Fe2O3 surface decreased owing to mesoporous support–nanoparticle interaction. Both colloidal and deposited platinum nanocatalysts improved the degradation of methyl orange under reduction conditions. The activation energy on the deposited platinum nanocatalyst interface (2.66 kJ mol?1) was significantly lowered compared with the one on the colloidal platinum nanocatalyst interface (40.63 ± 0.53 kJ mol?1). 相似文献

Porous coordination polymers are molecule-based materials presenting a high degree of tunability, which offer many advantages for targeted applications over conventional inorganic materials. This work demonstrates that the hydrophilic/hydrophobic character of Prussian blue analogues having a lipophilic feature may be tuned to optimize the gas adsorption properties. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) smog chamber techniques were used to investigate the atmospheric chemistry of the isotopologues of methane. Relative rate measurements were performed to determine the kinetics of the reaction of the isotopologues of methane with OH radicals in cm3 molecule−1 s−1 units: k(CH3D + OH) = (5.19 ± 0.90) × 10−15, k(CH2D2 + OH) = (4.11 ± 0.74) × 10−15, k(CHD3 + OH) = (2.14 ± 0.43) × 10−15, and k(CD4 + OH) = (1.17 ± 0.19) × 10−15 in 700 Torr of air diluent at 296 ± 2 K. Using the determined OH rate coefficients, the atmospheric lifetimes for CH4–xDx (x = 1–4) were estimated to be 6.1, 7.7, 14.8, and 27.0 years, respectively. The work described herein compares the effect of additives (HMPA, methanol, ethylene glycol, pinacol, N-methylethanolamine) on thermal and photochemical reactions of samarium diiodide (SmI2). In thermal reactions, additives that coordinate to SmI2 induce a significant increase in reaction rate. In photochemical reactions, the presence of an electronegative atom with a highly localized negative charge on the substrate leads to a rate deceleration. In order to benefit from the columbic interaction with the positively charged samarium cation, these substrates react preferentially by an inner sphere reduction mechanism. The addition of ligands prevents this close interaction causing rate retardation. Furthermore, studies demonstrate that excited state quenching of SmII by ethylene glycol and other additives indicate that it is unlikely to be the major cause for the observed rate retardation. This effect provides a simple diagnostic tool to distinguish between an inner and an outer sphere reduction mechanism. 相似文献

煤焦油中酚类物质的有效分离,可实现其高附加值利用。针对酚类物质的分离,本研究采用聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)为吸附剂,研究了其对模型油中邻甲酚、间甲酚、对甲酚、1-萘酚和2-萘酚等的吸附性能。研究发现,PVP对酚类物质具有较大的吸附容量,其中对间甲酚、对甲酚、1-萘酚和2-萘酚的最大吸附量均可达1000 mg/g以上。同时发现,PVP上的Lewis碱性位点(C=O和C-N)可与酚羟基之间形成氢键作用,该作用的强度受酚类物质空间位阻影响。PVP具有一定的吸附选择性,在苯并呋喃或喹啉存在下,依然能够有效吸附2-萘酚。此外,使用过的PVP可再生并重复利用,同时实现酚的回收。可见,PVP是一种可用于分离煤焦油中酚类物质的优良吸附剂。 相似文献

采用基于第一性原理的密度泛函理论(DFT)和局域密度近似(LDA)方法,优化计算得到碳纳米管(CNT),硼原子取代碳原子及其吸附氖原子前后系统的几何结构,能量,电子能带和态密度。结果显示,碳纳米管的能带结构与石墨的层状几何结构相似,能量的变化只在kz=0和kz=0.5平面之间沿着c轴方向出现。B原子取代C原子使价带和导带分别分裂为两个和三个能带。对Ne原子的吸附使价带能量沿着c轴方向升高并导致Fermi面附近的态密度下降。Ne原子的吸附在谷位H最稳定,顶位A其次。C-C间σ键的弯曲使Ne原子吸附在桥位b1比桥位b2处更为稳定。Ne原子在管外的吸附均为放热过程,而管内则为吸热过程。结构分析表明Ne原子对C原子有排斥作用,对B原子却具有吸引作用。B原子取代C原子的位置略凸出于CNT的管壁之外,使Ne原子的吸附能增加。 相似文献
